Event Details
Plans are now underway for the 2011 APALAAchievement Awards Banquet. Awards will be
presented for Print Production, Traffic Management, Lifetime Achievement, Industry Spirit and the
President’s Award. And this year introducing the Hall of Fame award. This recognition banquet is
very important to the L.A. Graphic Arts Community. It is the culmination of the APALA’s season
of outstanding programs where we recognize the outstanding talents of our membership.
To highlight the evening’s events, the APALAAchievement Awards Program book is given to each
attendee. Many of the program books are kept as a keepsake to this wonderful event. Again, this
year we ask you for a sponsorship donation. In exchange, you will receive recognition in the
Awards Presentation ceremony, the program book, and the Press Sheet newsletter and on signage
for the event.
Sponsorship reservations are due at the APALA office by Friday, April 29, 2011. Many of you will
be able to pick up what was included in last year’s program. However, we cannot alter any
previous materials to update them. If your material needs to be altered you must send new copy.
If you would like to see a copy of what you submitted last year, please call the APALA office at
818/558-7148 and they will email or fax to you.
This year will be the 33rd Anniversary of the Achievement Awards and I know it will be well
attended. We thank you in advance and look forward to seeing you on May 13th at the, NEW Doubletree by
Hilton Los Angeles Westside. Please use the enclosed form to guarantee your sponsorship
reservation.

1/2 page size = 7" x 4-3/4"; donation $350.
Ads must be supplied ELECTRONICALLY. Ads may be produced in Quark Xpress (versions up to
6), Adobe illustrator or Macromedia Freehand (save as encapsulated postscript [eps] with any
placed art) – Macintosh formats only. Any fonts used must be provided with printer and screen
fonts (for output purposes only). And you MUST SUPPLY A MARKED UP LASER PROOF.

APALA/Advertising Production Association of Los Angeles
The Advertising Production Association of Los Angeles is a nonprofit professional organization, comprised of professionals in various fields including graphic communications, print production, advertising production, publishing, digital production and new media. The association’s mission is to promote the interests of production managers, traffic managers and advertising project managers by facilitating career growth opportunities, educational programs and the exchange of information with our peers.
The APALA, founded in 1945, has a long history in the graphic arts community in Southern California. It was originally known as the Advertising Agency Production Men’s Club, and later became the Advertising Production Manager’s Club when women and non-agency producers were allowed to join. The organization has grown with the Los Angeles market to meet the needs of its members and the community that it serves.
The APALA provides educational forums conducted by industry professionals and experts in the graphic arts industry. It also promotes the advancement of members by sponsoring career-enhancing workshops and programs. Through its APALA online website, it provides membership networking opportunities and access to industry leaders.
The APALA is dedicated to supporting this network of professionals in print and digital media production throughout the graphic communications industry.
